Gun Control
- Ban assault weapons (as defined prior to 1990)
- Other reasonable registration as under current law; states must establish a rational basis for the restrictions.
- GPS tracing chip in guns
- Ballistics data base for all guns - like fingerprints
- Gun show registration with the proper agencies available at such shows
- Review results of conceal/carry laws; as laws are in place longer review crime statistics to see impact
Goals: Right to bear arms with reasoned restrictions of/access to weapons to maintain a safe society.
Reasons: We want guns to be available to law abiding citizens, but also want to keep track of guns and assist law enforcement officers. The technology of certain weapons is simply too dangerous to be allowed.
