Crime
- Actively and formally teach respect of others (and their property) and self
- Reverse cultural acceptance and glamorization of crime
- We need to review the issues surrounding urban crime, determine the factors and take steps to remedy the issue. For example, what portion of violent crime is related to illegal drug use.
- Review laws and punishments; either enforce laws or remove them from the books
- Capital punishment - by state vote
- Protect victims' privacy and rights to extent possible; stronger enforcement procedures when a person has been threatened with bodily (consider using electronic anklet to monitor their movement).
- Review prison system and the overcrowding issues and whether the juvenile justice system is too lenient.
- Educate citizens on social and economic costs of white collar crime and sexual crimes. Seek improved and equitable enforcement of laws.
- All felony convictions involve some jail time - no pure probation
- The CIA, FBI, State and local police and military must provide a coordinated effort. A cabinet level office and legislative committee must be responsible for assuring that this occurs.
- Use technology and communication devices (including surveillance cameras) that are available - systems like Amber Alert seem to work.
- Revoke state charter of any school that protects child abusers in any fashion; provide immunity from lawsuits for providing information of improper behavior when asked for reference
- No opportunity for civil suit for injuries incurred by perpetrator during the commission of a felony.
- Increase penalty for perjury
- Aiding and abetting charge for persons housing "known" sex offenders, if crime occurs within 2 mile radius of home.
- Create "super-felony" class of crime (e.g., murder of children etc.) - no parole, capital punishment, expedited process with penalty imposed within 2 years.
- GPS ankle bracelets (for dangerous offenders) and national registry for sex offenders.
- Provide community checks on abuse of police powers - hold annual open forum with police, prosecutor, judges and public.
Goals: Reduce Crime
Reasons: We are far too de-sensitized to violence, and we need to get along and respect each other's rights. It's a simple concept, but the individuals must give a little to avoid chaos. All felony convictions should involve some jail-time; even a small amount of jail-time will have a deterrent and teaching impact.

-Abraham Lincoln
"Morality cannot be legislated but behavior can be regulated. Judicial decrees may not change the heart, but they can restrain the heartless." -Martin Luther King, Jr.
